The two simplest ways to determine which ECU you have is by searching the ECU part number or last 7 digits of the VIN.
For Searching by Part Number:
- Locate the 7-digit part number on your ECU, as shown in the examples below.
- Enter the part number in the Search Part Number box.
- Click Search Part Number to find the details.
You will find the result similar to these examples:
For Searching by VIN:
- Enter the last 7 digits of your VIN in the Search VIN box.
- Click Search VIN to retrieve your vehicle information and click Browse Parts.
- Depending on your vehicle type, follow the steps below:
- Gasoline Vehicles:
- Go to Engine Electrical System → Control Unit DME.
- Look at line No. 1, where you will find your ECU information in the Description and Supp. columns.
- “ME9.2 / EK924″ would mean your ECU would use ME9.2 Quickflash.
- Diesel Vehicles:
- Go to Fuel Preparation System → DDE Control Unit.
- Check line No. 1 for the ECU information in the Description and Supp. columns.
- “Basic DDE control unit” and “5.0” would mean your ECU would use DDE5 Quickflash.
